TERMS

Terms & License

Plain language, because you'll actually read it: you buy SaySo once and it's yours. Here is what that covers, what it doesn't, and what each of us is responsible for.

Effective 10 August 2026 · Operated by SaySo (sayso.one) · Contact: [email protected]

The license

Your one-time purchase grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the SaySo desktop application on up to two devices you own or control (Mac and/or Windows), for personal or business use. The software is licensed, not sold; the license is perpetual for the version you bought and any updates we choose to make available to it.

Permitted: everyday use of the app, moving your license between machines (deactivate in Settings on one device to free the slot), and exporting your own data.

Not permitted: sharing, reselling, or publishing your license key; circumventing license activation; redistributing modified or unmodified copies of the app; using SaySo to break any law.

Purchases

Checkout is operated by Polar (polar.sh) as merchant of record — Polar is the seller on your receipt and processes your payment. Refunds are governed by our refund policy.

Your responsibilities

System requirements

macOS 12 or newer (Apple Silicon), or Windows 10 or newer (the Windows app is currently in beta and not yet code-signed). Dictation requires an internet connection, a microphone, and a Deepgram API key; AI cleanup additionally uses a Groq API key.

Warranty & liability

SaySo is provided “as is”. We work hard to make it reliable, but we don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free — dictation depends on third-party services (Deepgram, Groq) we don't operate. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to SaySo is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, or your non-waivable consumer rights in your place of residence.

Termination

The license ends if you materially breach these terms (for example, sharing your key or circumventing activation) or if your purchase is refunded or charged back — in either case the license key is deactivated. You can end it yourself any time by uninstalling.

Uninstalling

Mac: quit SaySo (menu-bar icon → Quit), then drag SaySo from Applications to the Trash. Windows: Settings → Apps → Installed apps → SaySo → Uninstall. Uninstalling removes the application; your local dictation history and settings remain in the app's data folder, and your API keys and license in the system keychain, until you delete them — the complete removal steps are on the download page. Your Deepgram/Groq accounts are yours and are never touched.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections of the place you live.

Changes & contact

If these terms change materially, the effective date above changes with it. Questions: [email protected].
