Privacy Policy

SaySo was designed so that we hold as little of your data as possible. Your voice runs through accounts you own, and your dictation history lives on your computer. This page spells out exactly what goes where.

The desktop app

Your audio. While you hold the talk key, audio streams from your computer directly to Deepgram, the speech-recognition service, using your own Deepgram account and API key. SaySo does not operate servers that receive, store, or relay your audio.

Your text. When an AI cleanup style runs (Clean, Formal, a History re-polish, or Roman Urdu/Hindi), the transcribed text — never the audio — is sent to Groq using your own Groq account and API key. The As-spoken and Brush-up styles never contact Groq.

What third parties do with it. Deepgram and Groq process this data under the terms of your agreements with them, not ours. Review Deepgram's and Groq's own privacy documentation.

What stays on your computer:

• Your dictation history (raw and cleaned text) — a local database on your device. The app never uploads it anywhere. You can delete entries in the app; to erase everything, also delete the app's data folder after uninstalling — the exact steps are on the download page.
• Your API keys — stored in your operating system's keychain, used only to call Deepgram/Groq directly.
• Your settings and personal dictionary — local files on your device.

What the app sends to us: almost nothing. The app checks sayso.one for the latest version number (a plain file download, no account data), and validates your license key against Polar (see below). The app contains no analytics or tracking.

Purchases and licenses

Checkout and payment are processed by Polar (polar.sh), our merchant of record. Polar collects and stores your email address and payment details to complete the purchase, issue your receipt, and deliver your license key; we never see your payment card. Your license key activates on up to two devices; Polar records those activations so the limit works. See Polar's privacy policy.

The website

sayso.one is a static site hosted on Cloudflare. If you consent, we use the Google tag to measure advertising (whether a visit from an ad led to a checkout or purchase). This measurement:

• runs only after you accept it in the consent banner (Google Consent Mode v2 — declining is fully respected and checkout works identically);
• sends Google no email addresses, license keys, or API keys — only pageview/conversion signals and an order reference;
• can be changed any time via the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer.

With your analytics consent, we additionally keep our own simple visit statistics: which pages were viewed, for how long, which country the visit came from (derived at our hosting provider's edge — your IP address is used transiently for rate limiting and is never written to our analytics database), and how you arrived (search, ad, link, or direct). These are collected by us, stored with Cloudflare, contain no name, email, or persistent identifier (only a random id that resets when you close the tab), are never shared or sold, and are deleted after 90 days. Decline analytics and none of this is collected.

We run no other analytics on this site.

Your choices and requests

• Delete your dictation data: it's on your device — delete entries in the app, or follow the complete data-removal steps after uninstalling SaySo.
• Purchase records: handled by Polar; contact us and we'll help route the request.
• Anything else — questions, concerns, or deletion requests: email [email protected]. A human reads it.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the effective date above changes with it, and the current version always lives at this address.
